In 2010, RedLynx and Microsoft launched one of the most ambitious community contests in Trials history: the Big Thrills Track Creator Challenge. This event gave players from around the world the chance to design their own tracks using the in-game Trials HD editor, with the promise that the best creations would be officially featured in the next DLC expansion — Big Thrills.
Contest Overview
Thousands of Trials HD fans participated, submitting a staggering 3,000 custom tracks. Over the course of several months, RedLynx’s development team reviewed and tested the submissions, looking for creations that demonstrated technical mastery, fun gameplay flow, and strong visual design — all while fitting the spirit of Trials HD.
The winners were officially revealed on November 10, 2010, with RedLynx announcing the results in partnership with Microsoft Game Studios.
Winners
1st Place: 🥇 DrittesAuge — $5,000, Trials HD sweatshirt & flag
2nd Place: 🥈 nannerdw — $3,000, Trials HD sweatshirt & flag
3rd Place: 🥉 xIRON WARLORDx — $1,000, Trials HD sweatshirt & flag
The top 10 community creators also saw their tracks officially included in the Trials HD: Big Thrills DLC — an unprecedented move at the time, marking one of the earliest integrations of fan-made content into a console release.
The seven next runners-up each received Trials HD sweatshirts and flags as recognition for their outstanding contributions.

RedLynx’s Statement
Tero Virtala, CEO of RedLynx, highlighted the importance of community involvement in the franchise’s success:
“The opportunity to include community-created content in the next chapter of the Trials story was really important to us.
We would not have achieved one million sales of the game if not for all this great support, so this contest and the inclusion of community tracks in the next DLC was one way for us to say thank you to all our fans.”
Trials HD : Big Thrills DLC
Released on December 1, 2010, the Big Thrills DLC added:
40 new tracks (including 10 community contest winners)
6 new tournaments
3 new achievements
50 additional Gamerscore points
The pack was available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 400 Microsoft Points and represented a major milestone — celebrating both the game’s one-million-player milestone and the talent of its creative community.
Community and Legacy
The Big Thrills contest marked a turning point for the Trials series, setting a precedent for future community-driven collaborations in Trials Evolution, Trials Fusion, and beyond.
