DreamHack Tours 2015 : Trials Fusion tournament

Venomz prime crushed them all

10/05/2015

📅 Dates : May 8–10, 2015
📍 Location : Parc des Expositions, Tours, France

The 2015 edition of DreamHack Tours, one of France’s biggest esports conventions, featured not only the usual giants such as League of Legends and CS:GO, but also a dedicated Trials Fusion tournament.

This competition was special for the French-speaking community, as several of its most active riders gathered in person. For one of them, Champy, the event was even more personal, since Tours was his hometown at the time.

Qualification Format

Players had to qualify through an in-game online tournament, playable across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. The top 5 performers were invited directly to the finals at DreamHack. Additionally, 3 extra spots were available for on-site qualification at the venue.

Champy later recalled that he had no idea about the on-site qualification at the time — a missed chance to compete and, in his words, to get “publicly destroyed.”

Atmosphere & Legacy

The tournament unfolded smoothly, without controversy. At the time, NSP Venomz was simply on another level, dominating leaderboards across the game. Ronshakk and PajamazX also impressed, cementing their places as two of the strongest speedrunners in the scene.

Even beyond the official matches, the event was a memorable community gathering. Attendees had the chance to meet RedLynx staff like BlueBadger and Shogun, and off-stage activities extended into the evenings.

After the finals, locals Champy and SheyRoploplow led the group (including Badger and Shogun) through the historic Vieux Tours district for drinks and sightseeing. Photos from that evening capture a moment when online rivals became real-life friends.
