Context
Ahead of Summer Games Done Quick 2016 (SGDQ), Trials Fusion player and track creator BlazeJP launched a community-level building contest to create custom Ninja tracks for a live showcase during the charity speedrunning marathon. GDQ events are among the most viewed gaming livestreams each year, raising over a million dollars for charities like Doctors Without Borders.
The goal: design Ninja tracks with a fun or nostalgic twist that would be used in a speedrun demo during GDQ 2016.
Objective
Create one or more Ninja tracks (difficulty 1–3), inspired by retro games, cartoons, or pop culture, to be played live during GDQ 2016 in a speedrun showcase with commentary.
Suggested themes
Retro games: Sonic, Mario, Donkey Kong, The Lion King, Batman
Cartoons and anime: Simpsons, South Park, Dragon Ball, One Piece, Itchy & Scratchy
Popular universes: Marvel, Star Wars, Minecraft
Games featured in previous GDQs or nostalgic shows
Tracks were encouraged to include “Games Done Quick” elements in their visuals or structure.
Rules
All tracks must be tagged with [GDQ] in the track name
Required difficulty: Ninja Level 1–3 only
Multiple submissions allowed; teams permitted (but only one prize per team)
Contest open to all platforms except Xbox 360
Tracks could be funny, creative, stylized, or technical
Deadline set for June 19, 2016, two weeks before SGDQ for runners to practice and prepare commentary
Prizes
The top 5 tracks would be showcased live during SGDQ 2016 in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers on Twitch.

Reach & Impact
The winning track was featured live at SGDQ 2016, showcasing the creative potential of the Trials Fusion editor to a global audience.
This event was a meaningful way for the community to contribute to a charitable cause, and highlighted the artistic and technical talents of the Trials building scene.
The French community was notably involved, bringing a distinctive flair to the selection.
